使えるフレーズ《Be My Guest》

It’s party season!

The phrase ’Be my guest’ is a very useful phrase, especially if you have parties with your friends at home.

It is a polite way of saying ’you can do what you want’.

 

 

【For example】

 

ex1.

Mae: Is it ok if I get another slice of cake?

Maria: Be my guest!

 

ex2.

Tamara: There’s only one piece of bread left!

Mae: You can have it.

Tamara: Are you sure?

Mae: Be my guest.

 

 

※Note:

It cannot be used for doing something to respond to requests!

It can sound rude.

John: Can you please pass the chicken plate?

Tamara: Be my guest. (*meaning: I will not pass it to you, get the chicken plate yourself.)

 

○RIGHT○

John: Can you please pass the chicken plate?

Tamara: Sure! Here you go. (*meaning: ok, I will pass the chicken to you)
