It looks like...

Hello everyone!

In English, there are many ways to describe things.

One of them is to explain by saying what something tastes/feels/sounds/looks/smells like.

Today, we'll talk about appearance, movement and expression!

"It looks like..." is commonly used to describe a person, animal, or thing in terms of what they look like, how they move, or how they might be thinking or feeling.

This phrase is commonly used in these situations:

I. To describe the appearance of a person or a thing in terms of something else

For example: "You look like a minion with those overalls and goggles."

II. To assume what a person (or animal or thing) has done, thought or felt based on their appearance or expression

For example: When you see someone enter a room and their face is red and they're out of breath:

"You look like you ran a marathon! Is it really that hot outside?"

Note: This can also be used for present and future situations.

For example (Present): When you see a young girl scratching her head and frowning while working on a notebook:

She looks like she's having a hard time with her homework.

For example (Future): When you see a cat that gets into a pounce position facing you:

The cat looks like it's about to jump on me.

Let's try using this to describe something we see or observe!
