When you’re in a new city and need to know where something is, you can ask anybody, “Where is the nearest ~?”
This simple phrase can you used with anyone you meet.
If you want to be more polite or get someone’s attention before asking, say, “Excuse me,” first.
“Where is the nearest Starbucks?”
“Where is the nearest train station?”
“Where is the nearest convenience store?”
“Excuse me, where is the nearest bathroom?”
