It didn't cross my mind

Today's phrase is to "cross (someone's) mind".

 

It means to think about something for a very short time. We sometimes use this phrase in it's negative form to mean we had never thought of something.

 

For example:

"It crossed my mind to call, but I decided it was a bad idea."

"It never crossed his mind that she was angry."
